Richard Lee Managing Director

Richard left the Army in August 2012 upon completion of his colour service. He served with the Royal Corps of Signals for 27 years seeing active service in a number of theatres. He did his resettlement training with Ubi-Tech and then joined the company as Operations Director in 2012 and he is now successfully leading the company as Managing Director.

Mike Harbon Operations Director

Mike served in the Royal Navy as a communicator and on leaving experienced the inadequacies of a resettlement process that offered training in either plumbing or car mechanics! He did the car mechanics course solely because he got taught to drive and then completed self-study courses and also attended a college course in IT and entered the world of IT and telecommunications in 1980. His career path took him from operations to technical support and then as head of technical skill development for the EMEA region of AT&T. He joined Ubi-Tech in 2014 and works closely with the armed forces students on their CVs, job searches and interview preparation.

Adam Martin Adam Martin Head of Training

Adam served in the Royal Corps of Signals for 10 years and has seen active service in Iraq and Afghanistan as an Electronic Warfare Operator. He has spent a number of years within his military career teaching Electronic Surveillance and Counter Measures to specialised units which lead to him to gaining a BSc (Hons) in Intelligence and Security. Adam chose to do his resettlement with Ubi-Tech and attained his Post Graduate Certificate in Wireless Communications and made such a great impression with his aptitude and knowledge that he was invited to join the team as an instructor in 2016.

Heath Manning Instructor

Heath served in the Royal Corps of Signals for 9 years and has held job roles in networking, cryptography and electronic warfare. He developed a passion for instructing whilst serving in Northern Ireland where he would travel around the country teaching TETRA Motorola equipment.

In 2013, with a view to further develop his knowledge he enrolled with Royal Holloway University London to study MSc Information Security. Keen to teach a technical subject, Heath interviewed for the position of instructor with Ubi-Tech. After interviewing he successfully attended the Post Graduate Certificate in Wireless Communications.

Tim Smith Instructor

Tim served for 22 years in the Royal Corps of Signals, gaining a wealth of experience in telecommunications from rigging antennas, instructing IT to trialling communications equipment. He completed his resettlement with Ubi-Tech and gained his Post Graduate Certificate in Wireless Communications and immediately took a job working as a Project Engineer planning and rolling out Radio Base Stations for Nokia/GTL in London. After finishing as a contractor he was approached by Ubi-Tech for a position as an instructor, a role for which he has 8 years of experience as well as holding qualifications as a coach and mentor.

Jason KolmerJason Kolmer Instructor

Jason served in the Royal Corps of Signals for 8 years and has seen active service in Afghanistan as a Communications Systems Operator. He has also spent time in Kenya, Canada, Andorra and Spain on various Telecommunications and Electronic Warfare Exercises.

Jason left the army in December 2014 and began training as a teacher, where he graduated as a Teacher of Computer Science with BA (Hons).

Jason has many leather bound books and his house smells of rich mahogany.

Maria Hall Operations Manager

Maria is the Ubi-Tech Office Manager and is often the first point of contact within the Ubi-Tech team. She works with the candidates enquiring about our courses to ensure they have all the relevant information and understand the process to apply for ELCAS. When they are on the course Maria is on hand for any enquiries the students have.

On a day to day basis she completes the main office tasks to ensure our courses run smoothly and efficiently. Her role includes generating and following up sales leads, representing Ubi-Tech at industry training and employment fairs, providing customer care, invoicing and finance and managing relationships with corporate customers.
